As a part of efforts to participate in EM activities with its customers, GS E&C has been operating an EM website introducing EM activities and getting reports of any violations to the code of ethics by employees.

Operations of Ethics Committee

GS E&C operates an Ethics Committee to assist the CEO in decision-making related to ethical issues and to deliberate and decide on policies and standards related to ethical management. The Ethics Committee is composed of a chairman and operating members. The chairman is an executive appointed by the CEO, and the operating members are executives designated by the heads of each organization. The committee deliberates on matters requiring strategic decision-making related to ethical management activities, reviews and evaluates ethical management initiatives, deliberates on awards, interprets inquiries, and decides on other necessary matters to practice and spread ethical management.

Code of Conduct

GS E&C provides clear criteria for decision-making and actions in ethically conflicting situations that employees can find themselves in during their job performance. This is accomplished through its Code of Ethics Guidelines which clarifies the criteria for its employees’ promotion of ethical management. Also, GS E&C has set clear guidelines in order to comply with the international laws and related regulations including directives arising from the OECD Convention on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions.

Operation of Reporting Channels

GS E&C operates reporting channels that allow individuals who are aware of unethical conduct within the company to report or provide information, and we actively encourage such reporting and whistleblowing.

Compliance Activity

We, GS E&C, are conducting a compliance activity in order to prevent any unethical behavior in advance from ethical (naivety )blind spot and improper business practice. As part of this, we are executing site patrols regularly around our own construction sites.

Ethical Management Education and PR

Off-line Education

We, GS E&C, offer off-line Ethics training programs which consist of an introductory course for new employees and an intensive course for employees who are working directly with stakeholders. We try to help our employees to learn the correct stance to take in Ethical Dilemmas.

On-line Education

Our On-line Ethics training program is more focused on case studies and learning how to react in morally challenging situations while our employees work in their positions. This training is compulsory for all employees and it is provided annually.

Ethical Management PR Channels

We, GS E&C operates an Ethical Management Board on our EIP, providing various resources related to the company's ethical standards, internal reporting, and ethics management. Additionally, we promote ethics management through in-house TV broadcasts, publish ethics management newsletters, and creates and distribute ethics management posters to ensure that employees are regularly exposed to and engaged with ethics management practices.

Establishment of the Strictest Reward-Punishment Culture about Unethical Behavior

Disciplinary Consequences of Unethical Conduct

We, GS E&C, are carrying out disciplinary actions according to the Ethics Committee’s rulings. Employees, related supervisors, and senior members who are directly involved in or related to any unethical behavior will be subject to the rules and consequently punitive measures determined by GS E&C. Business partners found guilty of unethical behavior will be subject to sanctions imposed by the Committee of the Subcontracting Department.

Reward for Reporting Unethical Behavior

We, GS E&C, have implemented a reward system for reporting unethical behaviors such as bribery and embezzlement by our employees. This system is available to employees of GS E&C, partner companies, and the general public.

Reward for Outstanding Sites for Ethical Management

We, GS E&C, encourage voluntary participation in ethical management among our employees and enhance practical ethical awareness. To achieve this, the company selects and rewards outstanding sites based on evaluations of compliance with work-related regulations and the implementation of ethical management practices.
