  • Title GS E&C Wins 1.6 Trillion Korean Won Contract for Fadhili Gas Increment Program in Saudi Arabia2024.04.03

GS E&C has secured a contract for the Fadhili Gas Increment Program Package 2, awarded by Saudi Aramco. The contract, valued at approximately $1.22 billion USD (1.6 trillion Korean Won), involves the construction of sulfur recovery facilities. The project will be executed over a period of 41 months and includes engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning support.

The Fadhili Gas Increment Program aims to expand the capacity of the existing Fadhili gas plant, located about 80 km from Jubail city in eastern Saudi Arabia. GS E&C will construct three sulfur recovery units, each capable of recovering 800 tons of sulfur per day. These facilities will capture and recycle sulfur produced during the gas refining process, enhancing the value of the final product and reducing environmental pollution.

GS E&C has focused on domestic plant projects in recent years due to the decline in overseas plant orders caused by falling oil prices and market volatility. However, with the recovery of oil prices and increased demand for petrochemical products post-COVID-19, GS E&C is resuming its overseas plant business, starting with this contract.

A GS E&C representative stated, "We will leverage our diverse construction capabilities and extensive experience in overseas EPC plant projects accumulated over the past 50 years to successfully execute this project. We will also strengthen the core of our plant business, which has been a key part of our long-standing business portfolio."
