GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C) has successfully secured a 600 billion Korean Won contract for the 'Northeast Asia LNG Hub Terminal' in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, continuing its streak of large-scale plant orders this year.

GS E&C announced on the 30th that it has won the first phase of the Northeast Asia LNG Hub Terminal project, ordered by Northeast Asia LNG Hub Terminal Corp., a joint venture between Hanyang (60%) and GS Energy (40%).
The first phase of the project involves the construction of two 200,000 kL (kiloliter) LNG storage tanks, vaporization and transmission facilities, auxiliary facilities, and port facilities on the redevelopment site of the port area in Myodo-dong, Yeosu. The construction period is expected to be approximately 42 months.

Once the 'Northeast Asia LNG Hub Terminal' is completed, it is expected to provide stable supply of LNG to companies and power plants located in the Yeosu National Industrial Complex by storing gas brought in from LNG carriers through docking facilities.

GS E&C has established itself as a leader in the LNG terminal sector, successfully completing over 10 LNG terminal projects domestically and internationally over the past 27 years, including the Incheon LNG Terminal project in 1997, the ongoing Boryeong LNG Terminal phases 2-4, the PTT LNG Terminal in Thailand, and the Bahrain LNG Terminal.

A GS E&C representative stated, "We have been awarded the LNG terminal project in recognition of our long-standing capabilities in LNG terminal and plant EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. We will prioritize safety and quality to successfully execute the project and solidify our position as a leader in the LNG terminal sector."
